With the split Fisher  moves to 7-4 on the season.
 Game One - -  Fisher 5 - Muhlenberg 2:
#Dan Jurik# improved his record to 3-0 on the season with a 5-2  victory over Muhlenberg in the first game of the doubleheader. The  senior pitched six innings only giving up six hits and two earned runs  while striking out 10 batters. Classmate #Geoff Martone# finished the  effort for the Cardinals in the seventh, taking the mound and striking  out for his first save of the year. 
At the plate #Marc Montesano# was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI  while classmates #Steve Karnyski# and #Teagen Barresi# both were  2-for-4. Karnyski also added a run scored and a RBI. #Jon Gibbs#, #Leo  Fusilli# and #Phil Pettinella# each pitched in a hit in the game.

Game  Two - - Fisher 8 - Muhlenberg 10:
Despite owning a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh  inning, the Cardinals could not hold on for the win, giving up a  three-run seventh and a six-run eighth. Senior #Brandon Lewis# picked up  the loss on the day, falling to 1-1 on the season while only giving up  two earned runs. Fisher only gave up three earned runs on the day with  #Andrew Van Slyke# getting the nod and going four innings only giving up  three hits and an earned run while fanning three Muhlenberg hitters. 
Montesano and Barresi continued their good fortunes at the plate,  each registering three hits in the effort. Barresi scored twice while  driving in two runs and Montesano crossed the plate three times. Gibbs  added two hits with an RBI and two runs scored. #Ryan Shaughnessy#  earned a hit, a run scored and a RBI in the game. 
Fisher will return to action Wednesday when it hosts SUNY Brockport  at Dugan Yard for its home-opener at 3 p.m.

With the game tied at 11 in  the ninth inning #Jason Nevada# drove in #Sean Osterman# for the winning run.  #Teagen Barresi# drove in Nevada for an insurance run to make the score 13-11  heading into the bottom of the inning. 
 
The bottom of the ninth only saw three Muhlenberg hitters, as #Ben Bostick# made a leaping catch for the  first out before #Tim Johnson# struck out two straight batters to earn his  second win of the season. 
 
#Leo Fusilli# had a team-high four RBI all coming off his first inning grand slam, hitting Fisher&rsquo;s first  long ball of the season in impressive fashion. But it wasn&rsquo;t long until a  teammate joined in the home run action as Bostick hit his first-career bomb as a Cardinal in the third. Bostick finished with three RBI on two hits,  while Barresi (RBI) and Osterman (2 RBI) also had two hits apiece.  

 Today the teams will finish their weekend of competition with a  doubleheader beginning at noon.

The St. John Fisher women&rsquo;s lacrosse team is hoping that a trip  to Schenectady will change its current misfortunes as it looks to win  its first game of the year against No. 14 Union at 1 p.m. on Saturday.  The Cardinals started the season with two nail-biting finishes against  nationally ranked teams: a loss to Roanoke in overtime and to Mary  Washington by just one.
