Volleyball Goes 1-1 In Tri-Match At Cortland

The St. John Fisher College volleyball team opened up the 2010 team with a win and a loss at tri-match on Wednesday at SUNY Cortland. In its first match, Fisher won the final two games and picked up a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-12) win over Kean University. The victory marks the first win for first-year head coach John Tuttle. Tuttle spent the past 10 seasons at SUNY Brockport, where he compiled a 218-147 overall record.
In the win over Kean, senior Sydney Kandefer led the way with 15 kills.   Amy Street dished out 33 assists, while Jenna Rath added six digs.
 
In the second match of the day – a 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-13) loss to the host Red Dragons, Street led the way with 24 assists and 12 digs.   Becca Smith, Amanda Pinak and Kandefer each totaled six kills.
 
Fisher will return to action on Friday at the Bomber Invitational.
