The Courage Bowl, which has drawn record-setting crowds to see St. John Fisher College and the University of Rochester play football, will be held at an off-campus site for the next two years.
For both 2010 and 2011 (Courage Bowl VI and Courage Bowl VII), the game will be played at the Rhinos Stadium in the City of Rochester. It has always been played at a campus venue – either at Fisher's Growney Stadium or at Edwin Fauver Stadium on the UR campus.
This game, which benefits the children of Camp Good Days and Special Times, has drawn 25,610 fans (average attendance of 5,122) over the past five seasons, with Fisher earning victories in all five Courage Bowls.
The venue change was announced jointly by athletic directors Bob Ward (St. John Fisher), along with George VanderZwaag (Rochester), and Gary Mervis, the founder and chairman of Camp Good Days and Special Times.
