RIT Rallies To Beat Fisher in Women's Basketball

The St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team dropped a 59-56 decision to host Rochester Institute of Technology on Tuesday night.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 11-9 overall and 6-6 in the Empire 8 Conference. 

Fisher trailed 19-18 with just under three minutes of left in the first half, but went on an11-0 run over the next five minutes and led by 10 at 29-19 two minutes in the second half.

The Tigers chipped away at Fisher’s lead, pulling to with two points on four occasions and tying the game twice, before taking their first lead of the half at 57-56 with 37 seconds left on a pair of free throws.
 
Fisher had three shots to tie or taking the lead in the final 30 seconds, but none were able to find the bottom of the net.
 
Mary Kate Comfort led Fisher with 14 points, while Amanda Lax finished with 12 points.

Fisher will return action at 6 p.m. on Friday at Elmira College.

The men's basketball team shoots 60% from the floor in the first half and earns a 93-87 win at Ithaca College.  Justin Beigel and Matt Newman each finished with 22 points in the win.
