Fisher Sends Hale and Vahl to Compete in the ITAs

Vahl made it to the second round before falling to the 10th seed from Skidmore.
The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team sent Laura Hale and Elena Vahl to compete in the ITA Tournament, an annual individual tournament played at William Smith College.  Hale lost in the first round to Lisa Mijovic of NYU 7-6, 6-0, while Vahl defeated Stephanie Krups of Richard Stockton 6-2, 6-4.  Vahl went on to fall in the second round to the 10th seed from Skidmore 6-2, 6-4.

The duo also competed in the doubles competition, falling in the first round to NYU's Sultan and Mijovic 8-2.

Fisher returns to action when it travels to neighboring rival Nazareth College to compete in Empire 8 play on Thursday.  The match begins at 4 p.m.

The men's basketball team erupts for 101 points and wins 101-65 over visiting SUNY Oswego.  The Cardinals led 47-26 at the half and 10 different players scored in the win with Rudy Rivera's 25 points leading the way.
