The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team sent
Laura Hale and
Elena Vahl to compete in the ITA Tournament, an annual individual tournament played at William Smith College. Hale lost in the first round to Lisa Mijovic of NYU 7-6, 6-0, while Vahl defeated Stephanie Krups of Richard Stockton 6-2, 6-4. Vahl went on to fall in the second round to the 10th seed from Skidmore 6-2, 6-4.
The duo also competed in the doubles competition, falling in the first round to NYU's Sultan and Mijovic 8-2.
Fisher returns to action when it travels to neighboring rival Nazareth College to compete in Empire 8 play on Thursday. The match begins at 4 p.m.
