The Empire 8 Conference has named several members of the St. John Fisher College men’s golf team to its All-Conference Teams, including Rookie of the Year
Tyler McArdell. following the Cardinals’ fifth consecutive Empire 8 Golf Championship.
McArdell (315), and
Greg Church (319), both freshman, were each named to the All-Conference First Team after finishing third and fourth in the individual standings, respectively. Fellow freshman
John Gerber (324) and junior Nick Schuler (338) received Second Team honors and finished sixth and tenth overall. Schuler was also honored as Fisher’s representative on the Sportsman of the Year team.
The final two rounds of the Empire 8 Golf Championship were played at the Mark Twain Golf Course after the opening two rounds were conducted at The Skenandoa Club in September, with the top five finishers who played all four rounds being named to the all-conference first team and the next five finishers earning second-team honors.
Fisher claimed its fifth consecutive Empire 8 Golf Championship with a combined 1271, 18 shots better than runner-up Elmira College.
