Three St. John Fisher College soccer players garnered regional awards following the 2009 season.
Mary Dougherty and
Megan Gee earned Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention accolades, while Dougherty doubled her honors and joined
Luke Lennox as ECAC Second Team All-Stars.
Dougherty and Gee were the Cardinals' top scorers. Gee, a junior, led Fisher with 19 points, scoring a team-high nine goals and adding one assist. Dougherty tallied 15 points during her senior campaign, knocking in six goals and recording three assists. Both athletes were each also Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selections.
Dougherty was also named as an ECAC Second Team All-Star, along with Lennox of the men's soccer team. Lennox, who was also named an NCAA Division III East Region All-Star, led the Cardinals in scoring for the 2009 season, tallying 23 points. The senior forward was named the Most Outstanding Player of the ECAC Tournament, and also garnered NSCAA New York All Region Team honors.
Dougherty and Lennox plan to continue on in their education following their graduation from Fisher in May, while Gee will return for her senior campaign next fall.
