Five Fisher men’s soccer players garnered All-Conference accolades in the 2009 selection. Luke Lennox, Andrew McIntosh, David Garabedian, Sean Fishel and Alex Salter, each earned honors.

Lennox, the 2007 Empire 8 Player of the Year, was named to the all-conference first-team for the third time in his three-year career. The senior forward has recorded six goals and six assists for 18 points on the season so far.

McIntosh was named to the second-team for his outstanding efforts at sweeper. The junior recorded two goals and assisted on one goal.

Garabedian and Fishel each earned honorable mention accolades. Garabedian, a senior defender, has aided in holding opponents to only 15 goals in 16 games, while also tallying two goals for four points. He recorded the game-winning goal in a crucial contest at Ithaca College. Fishel, a midfielder, started in all but one game in his first collegiate season, and recorded his first career goal against St. Joseph’s College.

Salter, a junior, was named Fisher’s representative as Empire 8’s Sportsman of the Year. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.

Salter also helped the Cardinals offensively, scoring three goals and contributing one assist for seven points this season.

Fisher will look to extend its season and accomplishments at 2 p.m. on Friday when it travels to Nazareth for a rivalry game in the Empire 8 Championship semifinals.
