Volleyball Falls to Stevens in Empire 8 Semifinal

Becca Smith led the Cardinals with 11 digs in the match.
The St. John Fisher College women's volleyball team (19-18) fell to host and top conference seed Stevens 3-1 (25-20, 15-25, 18-25, 14-25) in the Empire 8 semifinal on Saturday afternoon.

Becca Smith led the Cardinals with 11 digs, while Sydney Kandefer paced Fisher with 11 kills.  Senior setter Elaina Braun recorded 26 assists, while Brittany Rowan was second on the team with seven kills.  The loss marks the end of the Empire 8 season for the fourth-seeded Cardinals.

Stevens will face the winner of the 2:30 p.m. Nazareth vs. Ithaca match in the Championship match to be held at 7 p.m. tonight.

The men's basketball team erupts for 101 points and wins 101-65 over visiting SUNY Oswego.  The Cardinals led 47-26 at the half and 10 different players scored in the win with Rudy Rivera's 25 points leading the way.
