Women's Basketball Defeats Colby-Sawyer in Season-Opener

Maloney and Comfort each scored in the double-digits.
The St. John Fisher women's basketball team picked up a solid 70-38 victory over Colby-Sawyer in its 2009-10 season-opener played at the Skidmore Invitational in Saratoga Springs Saturday night.

Fisher was led by key returners Colleen Maloney, Kristen Taliento, and Mary Kate Comfort.  Maloney led the team in scoring, recording 26 points as she shot 11-17 in field goals, made good on two from the curve, and grabbed four boards.  Taliento tallied a team-high nine rebounds.  Comfort totaled 11 points, shooting 4-6 with one three-point field goal and grabbing five boards.

The Cardinals return to action tomorrow when they continue play in the Invitational, taking on host Skidmore at 2 p.m.  Catch all the action at the link below.

The men's basketball team moves to 19-0 with a 87-76 win at R.I.T.  The Cardinals knocked down 10 3-pointers in the win, including seven in the first half.  Mike McGee scored 20 points in the win, while Nick Bennett added 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
