Elaina Braun of the St. John Fisher College volleyball team has been named Empire 8 Player of the Week for women’s volleyball for the week ending November 1, 2009.
Braun’s performance helped the Cardinals push their winning streak to 11 games by defeating Buffalo State, Keuka and SUNY Morrisville. In the three matches, Braun recorded a team-high 79 assists, as well as six kills and 15 digs.
Braun ranks in the top ten of the Empire 8 in assists, with a current season total of 692. She also holds a top ten spot in hitting percentage, with a season average of .304.
The Cardinals, 19-16, will travel to the University of Rochester on Tuesday to wrap up their regular season, before traveling to Hoboken, N.J. on Saturday to take on host Stevens in the Empire 8 Championship Semifinals.
