The American Volleyball Coaches Association has named St. John Fisher College junior Sydney Kandefer to its All-Region Team. The middle blocker received honorable mention to the AVCA New York Region Team.

Kandefer led the Cardinals to a winning record, including winning 11 of their last 12 matches entering postseason play. The junior was honored for her efforts in several categories in which she led both Fisher as well as the Empire 8 Conference.

Kandefer led Fisher in total blocks (115) and averaged more than one solo block per game, which led both the team as well as the Empire 8 Conference. She was second on the team in kills (254) and hitting percentage (.272). The hitting percentage was also good for third-best in the conference.

The Cardinals finished with 20 wins or more for the second straight season, a feat that has not been accomplished in over 10 years. Kandefer will look to lead the Cardinals to another successful season in her senior campaign.
