Mary Dougherty and Megan Gee each earned First Team honors for the first time.
Mary Dougherty, Megan Gee, Ashley Martin, Amanda Siebert, Ashley Florack and Catherine Mibaum of the St. John Fisher College women’s soccer team, have each been honored by the Empire 8 Conference.

Dougherty and Gee were both named to the All-Conference First Team for the first time. Dougherty, a senior midfielder, was second on the team with six goals and tied for first on the team with three assists. She ranked second on the team in total points with 15. For her career, Dougherty tallied 50 points on 22 goals and six assists and earned All-Conference honors twice over her four years at Fisher.

Martin was named to the Empire 8 Second Team for her outstanding efforts at goalie. The senior started in all 18 games, and posted a 1.67 goals against average. She also was tied for third in the Empire 8 by recording three shutouts and was second in the conference in saves (99). Over her four-year career, Martin started in goal in each of Fisher’s last 53 games and posted a career record of 21-33-7 with seven shutouts.

Florack and Mibaum each earned honorable mention accolades. Florack, a senior defender, started in 18 games and was the leader on the defense. Mibaum, a freshman midfielder, started in all but one game in her first collegiate season, and recorded her first career goal in her second game against D'Youville. She ended the season with two goals and three assists for seven points.

Siebert, a junior, was named Fisher’s representative as Empire 8’s Sportswoman of the Year. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.

Siebert also helped the Cardinals offensively, scoring one goal and contributing two assists for four points this season.

The Cardinals (6-10-2 overall, 5-3-0 Empire 8) ended their season with a 3-0 loss to Nazareth College in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Semifinals, but made it back to the postseason after a two-year hiatus. Fisher loses five seniors to graduation and will return five players who started more than 15 games this season for their 2010 campaign.
