Men's Basketball Wins Season Opener At CMU

Michael Wopperer was one rebound shy of a double-double on Sunday.
The St. John Fisher College men’s basketball team picked up a 70-65 win at Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday in the season opener for both programs.   The Tartans, who trailed by as many as 16 points late in the first half, took their first lead since the opening moments with just over eight minutes to go at 51-50.  The Cardinals, however, responded with a 6-0 run over the next two minutes to regain command.
Six players scored at least eight points in the win, with sophomores Connor Henderson and Jordan Gettings leading the way with 12 points.   Brandon Witte added 11 points, while Michael Wopperer added 10 points and team-high nine rebounds.

The men's basketball team erupts for 101 points and wins 101-65 over visiting SUNY Oswego.  The Cardinals led 47-26 at the half and 10 different players scored in the win with Rudy Rivera's 25 points leading the way.
