Tennis All Conference Winners
Three Fisher women's tennis players garnered Empire 8 All-Conference honors as the Cardinals wrapped up the 2009 season.  Fisher enjoyed a winning season, ending 6-5 overall and going 4-4 in conference play.  The Cardinals finished fifth in the Empire 8, narrowly missing a berth in the Empire 8 Tournament.

Junior transfer Elena Vahl earned First Team All-Conference honors after recording a stellar 8-0 record in Empire 8 matches and going 16-2 overall at second singles.

Vahl paired with partner Laura Hale to pick up Second Team honors for first doubles.  The duo tallied a 9-2 overall record, and went 5-2 in Empire 8 play.

Katie Barlow earned honorable mention accolades for her 6-4 overall record, played mainly at third singles.  Barlow was also elected Fisher's representative as the Sportswoman of the Year.  One member of each team was named that institution’s representative on the 2009 Women’s Tennis Sportswoman of the Year Team. Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.

Fisher returns to play this spring, when the Cardinals travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to compete in their annual spring tournament.
