Volleyball 2-0 After First Day of Play at E8 Crossover

The St. John Fisher College women’s volleyball teamed opened up the first day of play at the Empire 8 Crossover at neighboring Nazareth College with two victories. The Cardinals began the day with a decisive three-game win over Alfred University (25-18, 25-9, 25-10). They then went on to defeat RIT in another straight three-game victory (25-23, 25-16, 25-12).

Senior Jenna Waldron combined for 36 digs on the night, putting her less than 50 digs shy of a topping the College record for career digs. Sydney Kandefer combined for 12 kills, while Amy Street recorded 20 digs. Elaina Braun tallied 45 assists in the two matches.

The Cardinals return to action tomorrow as they continue their conference matches. Fisher faces Elmira College at 12 p.m. and wrap up the weekend with Hartwick College at 5 p.m.

The men's basketball team erupts for 101 points and wins 101-65 over visiting SUNY Oswego.  The Cardinals led 47-26 at the half and 10 different players scored in the win with Rudy Rivera's 25 points leading the way.
