Fisher Women's Soccer Clinches E8 Championship Bid

Freshman Catherine Mibaum assisted on the game-winning goal on Wednesday.
Mary Dougherty snapped a scoreless tie in the 76th minute to give the visiting Fisher women's soccer team a 1-0 win over host Alfred Unversity.  WIth the win, Fisher improves to 6-7-2 overall, but more importantly, 5-3 in the Empire 8 Conference.

Fisher will be the No. 3 seed in next month's Empire 8 Championship, marking the first time since 2005 the Cardinals have qualified for the Conference Championship.   The Cardinals will face No. 2 seed Nazareth College in the semifinals. The winner of the four-team tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.

Freshman Catherine Mibaum assisted on Dougherty's goal.  Senior goalie Ashley Martin stopped two shots and recorded her second consecutive shutout.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday and will host University of Rochester.

The men's basketball team erupts for 101 points and wins 101-65 over visiting SUNY Oswego.  The Cardinals led 47-26 at the half and 10 different players scored in the win with Rudy Rivera's 25 points leading the way.
