Kaytlyn Perotti put in the Cardinals first goal of the game, her second of the season.
The St. John Fisher College women’s soccer team (4-7-1, 3-3-0 E8) posted a 3-2 win over fellow conference opponent Utica (3-7-0, 2-2-0 E8) on Saturday afternoon at Growney Stadium.

Kaytlyn Perotti kicked off the scoring for the Cardinals 24 minutes into play with her second goal of the season off a cross from Liz Lawrence. The cross hit Perotti on the left side of the net, and she fired it in from ten yards out.

Mary Dougherty recorded her second goal of the season, and Fisher’s second goal of the game, off a rebound with 15 minutes left in the half. Ashley Florack fired a shot from 20-yards out, which rebounded off Utica’s goalkeeper and was picked up by Dougherty in the center to put the Cardinals up 2-0 going into the half.

Megan Gee came up with her ninth goal of the season, putting Fisher up 3-0 just under 10 minutes into the second half. Gee grabbed the ball of an assist from Amanda Siebert directly in front of the net, firing it into the right side.

The Pioneers picked up the pace in the second half, first striking back with a goal twenty minutes into the half off a flawless free-kick right through the Fisher defense from Brenna Weidman.

Amber Comeau got the Pioneers within one goal when she put in their second of the game with just one minute left to play.

Goalkeeper Ashley Martin kept up with the speed, getting her hands on a strong shot from Utica’s Danielle Smith directly in front of the net, an amazing save limiting the Pioneers to just two goals on the game.

Fisher continues conference play when it hosts the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
