St. John Fisher College football players Kenny Bostick and Dan Pollock have been named to the D3football.com All-East Region Second Team for their efforts in 2008.

In his first year as a full-time starter, Bostick, a senior cornerback, led the team with four interceptions, and ranked second on the team with 70 tackles (37 solo), including four stops for loss. In the Cardinals 37-6 rout of Ithaca College, the Empire 8 First Teamer made a team-leading 10 tackles and returned an interception 59 yards to set up a touchdown, and returned another interception 69 yards for a touchdown in Fisher’s win over Norwich University. Bostick finishes his four-year career with 132 tackles (four for loss), six interceptions, and three fumble recoveries.

Pollock collected Second Team All-Region honors last season, and is a two-time Empire 8 Conference First Teamer. He finished the season with 56 tackles including 8.5 for loss (2.5 sacks). He ranked second on the team with six pass breakups, and also forced and recovered one fumble. With 18.0 sacks, Pollock finishes his career ranked fourth on the College’s all-time sack leaders list.

Despite a season-opening loss to perennial power Mount Union, and back-to-back home losses for the first time in four years, the Cardinals rallied for three straight wins down the stretch to claim a postseason berth for the sixth consecutive season. In the ECAC Northeast Championship Bowl, the Cardinals defeated Husson University 17-7 to finish the 2008 campaign with a 7-4 overall record.
