Football to Host the Red Dragons in ECAC Bowl Game

The St. John Fisher College football teams hosts the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Fisher looks to clinch its second straight ECAC Championship as the Cardinals play Cortland in the ECAC Division III Northwest Football Championship Bowl.

Both teams hold similar records as Fisher posted a 6-3 overall record while Cortland owned a 7-3 mark. Oddly enough, the last time these two teams met was in the same bowl game in 2003, with Fisher winning 47-37. That game featured the Cardinals in the program's first-ever postseason game.

The Cardinals won a share of the Empire 8 Championship for the fourth time in the past six years. Fisher did not gain an NCAA Championship berth due to a tie-breaker that Alfred University received after defeating the Cardinals by a field goal earlier this season.

Women's Basketball Travels to Skidmore Invitational

The St. John Fisher College women’s basketball team will open its season on Saturday against Colby-Sawyer in the Skidmore Invitational. The game is slated for 6 p.m. in Saratoga Springs, New York. The last meeting between the two teams was in the 1994-95 season as Fisher defeated Skidmore 71-33. Marianne O'Connor Ermi will enter her second season at the helm for the Cardinals, her first as the official head coach after serving as interim coach last season.

Fisher will finish the Invitation playing the host Skidmore at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Cardinals will see their first action at home when they host the Courtyard-Marriott Invitational starting on the day after Thanksgiving and continuing throughout the weekend.
